Malvern and Brueton Park (B90 3HW)

These two parks merge into one with flat terrain and are located right in the centre of Solihull. Set in the middle of Brueton Park, is the Parkridge Centre (link). This offers refreshments and everything you need for a great day out. The 5.5 acre nature reserve boasts a variety of popular British and migratory birds. There are numerous trails around the reserve and an adventure playground for children of all ages to enjoy! There are places to have picnics and toilet facilities. This is one of the best parks in Solihull and well worth a visit.

 

Elmdon Park (B92 9EY)

Located on the edge of Solihull, Elmdon Nature Park is a fantastic open space, nestled between Birmingham Airport and Landrover. This park is huge, with so much to see and explore. There are many hidden paths, trails and tracks to explore. The lake is beautiful to visit early in the morning where you can see the resident park swans and their signets. There are many other species of birds, along with other wildlife with hedgerows and wildflower meadows and the Elmdon Nature reserve managed by the Warwickshire Wildlife Trust. The park has wide-open grass areas with football pitches, children’s play area and outdoor gym equipment. There is so much to do for families, just remember a picnic!

 

Tudor Grange Park (B91 3DN)

The park is located within walking distance to Solihull Town centre and adjacent to the local train station and leisure centre, Tudor Grange Leisure Centre. This is perfect for relaxing and having fun with friends and family. It has a cycle track, skate park, pitch and putt course, outdoor gym equipment for those looking to keep fit and a play area.

 

This park is a great venue for some of Solihull’s biggest park events such as the annual Solihull Carnival.

 

Shirley Park (B90 3AL)

This park has a football and rugby pitch, a skate park, tennis courts, ornamental gardens, and a play area. There is even a secure, free to use dog agility area with numerous obstacles and pieces of equipment to increased activity and improve the health of both dog and owners.

 

Dorridge Park and Dorridge Wood (B93 8LJ)

Located in the heart of the community, it is home to ancient Ash, Beech and Oak woodlands, Dorridge Wood is an ideal environment for many animals and for children to explore. There is a play area that was refurbished that is great for children of all ages to have fun.

 

Sheldon Country Park (B26 3TU)

Covering an area of just over 300 acres, it is made up of open grassland, wetlands, old hedgerows and some mature woodland. The Old Rectory Farm, a 17th Century dairy farm, is ideal for families, where you can meet, ponies, Jersey cattle, pigs, goats, ducks, chickens, geese and more. Next to this is a children’s play area where kids and run around securely. There are also 3 football pitches. One feature that differentiates this park from the others, is that there is viewing platform area where you can watch planes take off over your head and land in front of your at Birmingham International Airport. This is definitely worth a visit to see this and best of all it is free!

 

Hillfield Park (B91 3LU)

Located in Shirley, this park covers an area of over 2 acres and includes an attractive lake surrounded by formal footpaths. It is home to a variety of bird life including swallows, swifts, herons, peregrine falcons and buzzards. There is a great children’s play area that caters for kids of any age and disabled children. There are also football pitches, which require booking online.

 

Knowle Park (B93 9HT)

This park proudly sits on the previous grounds of Longdon Hall and is set in the heart of the historic Knowle Village. This is a local Nature Reserve that is great for getting in touch with wildlife. There are ornamental gardens, a pond, tennis courts and a children’s play are that includes springs, zip wire and a climbing net. For those looking to keep fit, there is some outdoor gym equipment. This park is popular throughout the year, with a particular highlight being the Knowle Park annual music event where picnicking is a must!

 

Olton Jubilee Park (B92 7RQ)

This is a much-loved local community park with large open spaces, ideal for family fun! The playground was refurbished as part of the Playbuilder project and is equipped with adventure trails, a wet woodland, a football pitch, basketball area, and a BMX track.

 

Langley Hall Nature Reserve (B92 7ET)

Langley Hall Park, located in Olton, offers an intimate space with a rich environment for relaxation and play. This is a small park that has a pond and stream and is good for dog walking and jogging.
